In Memoriam:

Karen Chamberlain

Karen Chamberlain, well-known poet and memoirist from Glenwood Springs, passed away on Saturday, September 11. Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer writes: “Her cancer had come out of remission and progressed very quickly. She was both brave and filled with gratitude and grace to the end. When she died, she was surrounded by friends from her writing group who read to her and meditated with her until her last breath. A memorial is being planned.”

She was, Rosemerry continues, “such a poetic force in such a soft way, always encouraging writers, opening doors, and also telling it real with just enough sugar that a difficult truth felt like a gift. So many lives she touched with her generosity and clarity. She led by example how to live fully, passionately, compassionately.”
