Will
Will I rip this spine of a beautiful babe
Her ignorance paints a picture I loathe, yet she is admirable, her head bowed
Her will strong as her sinew and bone
Muscles clinging, desperation ringing—she knew she was loved, but alone.
She sang a song of silence, with closed mouth and glassy eyes…
I cry more tears now for her distance
I would be a coward and a fool if
Her wisdom was mist, and I the Blazing Sun
Patronizing and scolding the shadow she was, the wisp.
I cast that shadow, and wish to flatten myself into concrete sidewalks, to walk in…
...to be the shadow of that shadow.
