Kathleen Willard's poem "Their Letters" has been anthologized in Proud to Be: Writing by American Warriors. This poem was about her father's tour of duty in Vietnam.
We must work to lose control when control has become too limiting, just as we must assert more vigorously the presence of choice to counter a too great loss of control. The making of poems is in constant tack between these two poles and there will always be poems that fail in this zigzag sail.

On November 28th at 7 p.m. Amber Koneval will read from her book Drunk Dialing the Divine at Regis University in Denver in the Creative Writing Room of the Library. The event is hosted by the Religious Studies department, and refreshments will be provided.
If planning to attend, RSVP to amberkoneval@gmail.com before the 28th so that they know how many refreshments to bring and also to make sure that there will be enough room for everyone.

The IMPROV reading this year, hosted by Green Fuse Poetic Arts Association, will be a Solstice Poetry Happening at 7 p.m. on December 22, at the McCreery House in downtown Loveland. It is located at 746 N. Washington Ave. (7th & Washington). IMPROV contributors will read their included poem(s) as well as several other poems of their choice. Other poets are invited to participate in an open mic after the contributors have read. Music by jazz pianist Otto Koch will enliven the evening.
