Biography
Mary Margaret Alvarado is the author of Hey Folly (Dos Madres), a book of poems. Her nonfiction and poetry have been published by The Iowa Review, The Boston Review, America, Outside, VQR, The Point, The Rumpus, The Beloit Poetry Journal, The Georgia Review, The Kenyon Review, and elsewhere and twice noted in The Best American. She was an Iowa Arts Fellow and Provost's Post Graduate Writing Fellow at the University of Iowa, where she earned her MFA. Her debut novel is represented by Annie DeWitt of the Shipman Agency. She goes by her nickname, Mia.
