Readings/Workshop Availability
The author of two books of poetry and an essay collection on nature and place, I love speaking to audiences about my work and sharing insights into the craft and business of writing that I have developed in my decade of experience as a working writer.
Based in Denver, I have spoken at many events across the United States, including the Association of Writers & Writing Programs, Lighthouse Writers Workshop, Litquake, Kundiman, New Orleans Poetry Festival, Montana Book Festival, and the Mountain Words Literary Festival.
My workshops are generative and are often geared toward all levels and genres. I create spaces for students to discover the intelligence in their writing and develop an internal sense of authority. Current workshops include using persona poetry to write about difficult subjects, finding the seeds of new work in old drafts, and cultivating metaphors.
I am open to both in-person and online speaking invitations. My fee varies according to the topic and the nature of the engagement.
