Amy Wray Irish

Amy Wray Irish grew up in Oak Park, Illinois (home to Frank Lloyd Wright and Ernest Hemingway). Raised on regular visits to The Art Institute of Chicago, she developed a passion for writing about art and history. Irish received her MFA from the University of Notre Dame and now lives in the foothills of Colorado with her family.

Irish’s 2021 chapbook, Breathing Fire, received the Fledge Award from Middle Creek Publishing. The book was greatly influenced by Denver artist Madeleine Dodge and her metalwork “Rust” series. Irish's 2023 chapbook Down to the Bone: Poetry for a Post-Roe World won first place in the Poetry Mesa Chapbook Contest, judged by Judyth Hill. To read more by Amy Wray Irish, go to:
