Bennett Joan Harmony Nieberg

In Memoriam

Bennett Joan Harmony Nieberg (they/them) was a queer Jewish poet from Greenwood Village, CO. They graduated from the University of Colorado, majoring in English and Creative Writing, and were pursuing an MFA at Virginia Commonwealth University.  They interned at the Boulder Writing Studio, were a semifinalist at the 2017 national poetry slam, and were a member of the Denver Mercury Slam Team. They were twice a Pushcart Prize nominee and their work has appeared or is forthcoming in Crab Fat Magazine, Entropy, Permafrost, Western Humanities Review, Birds Piled Loosely, Lunch Ticket, The Indianapolis Review, Pretty Owl Poetryand The Hunger, among others. They were a co-founding editor of the journal What Are Birds.
